Committee Descriptions
The Mount Kisco Public Library Foundation consists of the following committees:
Donor Development Committee
This committee will work on securing substantial gifts for the Foundation. Its focus is to oversee the existing fund raising efforts including events, annual campaigns, grants and new initiatives. Ultimately, a planned giving program will be developed.
Finance Committee
Working with the treasurer, this committee will manage the financial operations of the Foundation. It will oversee the endowment fund, making decisions on investment opportunities for Foundation principal. In addition, they will ensure that the organization meets all state and federal institution requirements. The Finance committee can also maintain a donor database.
Allocations Committee
This committee will review and recommend funding projects for the Board to approve. Funding requests from the Library and Friends of the Library will be awarded funding on the merits and criteria that the committee will develop
Communication Committee
This committee will develop marketing communications and public relations tools and programs to enhance the MKPL Foundation's visibility in the community. The Marketing committee will work on a newsletter, the website, and communications relating to fundraising campaigns and special events.
Program Development
This committee will work with the Friends of the Library and the Library Director. The Foundation hopes to support a variety of museum, art, author, cultural, and educational programs that are free and open to the public. The events will be organized by the Program Committee, a group of local volunteers, and draw on the expertise of residents of the community .
Board Development
Strategically review the composition of the Board of Directors and outreach to the community to develop new membership.
